As always, anyone may apply to become an independentjudge. Our Adjudication Core will identify the most qualified applicants andensure inclusiveness but we will also have a look at the funding applicantsrequire. So, please, try to secure funding before you apply. A call forapplications will be up in due time.

n-1 becomes >n-2: In phase 1 you may register as many adjudicators asyou wish but at least n-1. That means you are not required but allowed toregister judges if you register only one team. From the second team on you needto register at least one judge for each team. We guarantee you get the numberof judge slots required under n-1 and we will allocate further slots up to ourcap of 240 institutional judges.

Soon onthis blog: all the rules concerning eligibility of speakers and institutions.

Formal Invitation to Berlin Worlds

(Download letter in PDF)

Dear debaters and adjudicators of the world,

The Berlin Debating Union cordially invites you to be part of the
33rd World Universities Debating Championship, held from
December 27th 2012 to January 4th 2013 in Berlin, Germany.

The registration process opens on March 31st 2012; 400 teams á
two speakers as well as 300 adjudicators will be admitted.

Each speaker and adjudicator will be requested to pay a registration
fee of 400.00 EUR and to cover their costs of travel.

To find out more about locations, schedule, registration, payment
etc., visit www.wudcberlin.com.

We are looking forward to welcome you in Berlin.

Finkel, Fischer, Kilcup and Fischer appointed to Berlin Worlds Adjudication Core

WUDC Berlin 2013 Chief Adjudicators Sharmila Parmanand and Douglas Cochran have appointed

Victor Finkel, Isabelle Fischer (née Loewe) and James Kilcup

as Deputy Chief Adjudicators.
